October invites us to slow down, give thanks, and place our lives once again in the hands of God.

This month is traditionally associated with the Holy Rosary, and on October 7 we celebrate the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary. The Rosary is one of the Church’s most treasured prayers, simple enough to pray anywhere, yet deep enough to accompany us through every season of life.

This month, perhaps we can make a little more room for the Rosary – one decade on the way to work, a Rosary prayed with family, or a quiet prayer offered for someone who is struggling.

Mary, Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us and lead us always closer to Jesus.

A Time to Give Thanks

October is also a special month for Canadians as we celebrate Thanksgiving on Monday, October 12. Thanksgiving reminds us that gratitude is more than something we express once a year. For Christians, thanksgiving is a way of life.

Every celebration of the Eucharist is itself an act of thanksgiving. We come before God grateful for His love, His mercy, the gift of family and friends, the people who have walked with us, and even the quiet blessings we sometimes overlook.

This Thanksgiving, we remember especially those who may be alone, grieving, ill, or facing difficult circumstances. May our gratitude lead us not only to say “thank you” to God, but also to become a blessing for someone else.

From all of us at Daily TV Mass, thank you for being part of our prayer community. Whether you join us each morning from across Canada or from somewhere around the world, please know how grateful we are to pray with you.

Thank you for praying with us,

Deacon Mike Walsh
