He is Risen! We are now in the joyous season of Easter, which continues throughout the month of May. As we begin to see flowers bloom and the sun shine for longer days, our community prays for one another.

May 1st we are blessed to have Father Henk return to celebrate the Daily TV Mass.

This month we acknowledge Vocations Week, May 2 through May 8. We join together in prayer for an increase in vocations to the ordained ministries (priesthood and diaconate), consecrated life in all its forms (male and female religious life, marriage, societies of apostolic life, consecrated virginity), to the missionary life and for those living in a single state.

Pope Francis has asked the Church to continue to promote vocations. The Holy Father reminds us that [our prayers will] “touch the hearts of the faithful and enable each [person] to discover with gratitude God’s call in their lives and to find [the] courage to say ‘yes’ to God.”

Our viewer’s mass is on May 28 where we pray for all young people, called to live life to the fullest; may they see in Mary’s life the way to listen, the depth of discernment, the courage that faith generates, and the dedication to service.

May is traditionally dedicated in a special way to honoring and seeking the intercession of Mary as the Mother of God and Mother of the Church.  This month’s prayer is a prayer to Mary

Holy Mary, help those in need, give strength to the weak, comfort the sorrowful, pray for God’s people,

assist the clergy, intercede for religious. May all who seek your help experience your unfailing protection. Amen.
