This year, the National Catholic Broadcasting Council will offer special Holy Week Reflections in place of the Daily TV Mass on Good Friday and Holy Saturday.
The Catholic Church does not celebrate Mass on Good Friday and Holy Saturday — the only two days of the year when no Mass is offered. Instead, we invite you to journey with us through these powerful reflections as part of the Holy Triduum.
Good Friday – April 3
The Passion According to St. John with Fr. Peter Jae Choi
On Good Friday, we will read the Passion of Christ according to St. John, and Fr. Peter Choi will offer his reflections as we journey through the Passion. He will explore powerful themes of friendship with Jesus, true power and courage, and the meaning of the Cross.
Holy Saturday – April 4
Blessed Are Those Who Mourn with Fr. Ernesto De Ciccio
On Holy Saturday, Fr. Ernesto De Ciccio will present six short reflections focusing on the individuals who stood at the foot of the Cross and mourned the death of Jesus: John the Beloved Disciple, the Roman Centurion, Joseph of Arimathea & Nicodemus, Mary the Mother of Jesus, Peter, and Mary Magdalene.
These special reflections will air in place of the Daily TV Mass at the usual broadcast time. You can watch them on television, on our website, via our app, or on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/dailytvmass — wherever you normally join the Daily TV Mass.
At the end of these holy days, we warmly invite you to celebrate with us the joy of the Resurrection at the Easter Sunday TV Mass.
