Celebrating 25 years of Ministry

On March 2, 1998, Bishop John Sherlock celebrated the first Daily TV Mass from St. Michael’s Cathedral. The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishop’s  were looking to answer a basic question- How can the Catholic Church in Canada make use of the technology of television?

They engaged Michael McManus as the founding executive director of the National Catholic Broadcasting Council who worked with a dedicated team and decided the best option to serve the Canadian Catholic community was to put the Daily Mass on TV Monday to Friday each week.

On March 2,2023 we celebrate the 25th anniversary of this first televised mass. Msgr. Sam Bianco, who celebrated the 2nd TV Mass, will be our celebrant and homilist.

A special thanks to all of you in the Daily TV Mass community for your ongoing support and prayers in support of our ministry. We look forward to celebrating many more Masses together as a community of the faithful across Canada and around the world.
