The Resurrection as Revealing God as Redeemer, not as Rescuer by Father Ron Rolheiser
Jesus’ raising of Lazarus reveals that God is not always a rescuer who prevents suffering, but a Redeemer who brings life and hope out of suffering and death. Just as the Father did not spare Jesus from the Cross but raised him afterward, faith does not promise exemption from hardship. It promises that, in the end, pain and death will not have the final word.
